Buddy & Kagi
Honourable Mention
Before we introduce our team, we would like to acknowledge the contributions of two of our former helpers, Buddy and Kagi. These two canines played a significant role in the success of Canine Companions, always at the side of our founder, Sam, and eager to assist. Buddy served as our demo dog for many of our classes and private training sessions, while Kagi excelled in therapy work and participated in our TAFE training program, helping to educate humans. They both enjoyed playing with their fellow furry friends during our all-day sessions. Buddy and Kagi were the inspiration for Canine Companions, and we are grateful for their impact to they have made.

Meet Our Canine Team
STELLA BEAR
Stella Bear, a Maremma Sheepdog, is undergoing advanced training to become one of our demo dogs. Follow her progress on our social media pages where we share updates and insights into her training. In the meantime, Stella is already assisting us in various ways.
Meet Banjo, the amazing Border Collie who is always ready to lend a paw! He's our go-to demo and decoy dog during private training sessions, and he's a pro boosting confidence in other pups. When he's not busy being a superstar, Banjo loves nothing more than snuggling up by fire, going on adventurous bush walks, and playing with his furry friends.

River, a Cavalier King Charles, may be the smallest member of our team, but he has the most energy and attitude. He assists us in our private training sessions as a demo or decoy dog, working closely with our trainer Sam. Although River loves training and engagement work, he can't resist cuddling up on the couch with his family.

Meet Our Human Team
Sam
Sam is the founder and business owner of Canine Companions. She has done her dog training through the National Dog Training Federation and is currently pursuing a certificate in business. Sam is dedicated to continuing her education by attending seminars, shows, and reading. She specialise in private training, assisting dogs with obedience, therapy training, and behavior problems such as reactivity, chewing, barking, separation anxiety, dog aggression and much more. Sam works closely with owners to create a better bond with their dogs, helping them feel confident and achieve things they didn't think they could. In her free time, Sam enjoys playing the piano as music is another one of her passions.
Dylan
Dylan has been a valuable asset to Canine Companions for a considerable period of time, providing private training assistance to Sam and serving as our handyman. In 2024, Dylan joined Canine Companions full-time and now serves as our dog walker, as well as assisting with our all-day sessions and our admin team. Dylan takes great pleasure in making new canine acquaintances and interacting with various breeds. He is committed to helping clients by taking their companions for walks. Additionally, Dylan has a keen interest in cars and aspires to restore an old vehicle someday.

Creative Talking Point
Paulene, the owner of Creative Talking Point, has expertly captured all of our canine clients' photos for Canine Companions. From puppy school to private training and even pup birthday parties, Paulene has a passion for capturing dogs through her lens and providing clients with lasting memories of their furry friends. In addition to her photography skills, Paulene enjoys meeting and cuddling with all our furry friends. She has two dogs of her own, Boots (Banjo's Brother) and Blue, who also participate in Canine Companions' all-day sessions and dog walking.

We are fortunate to collaborate with the team and their furry friends at Mcivor Rd Veterinary clinic through private training, and all-day sessions, services at Canine Companions. The Mcivor Road Veterinary clinic have a great team passion about the care of all animals that come through their doors
Myvet Strathfieldsaye
Canine Companions have been taking our own dogs and other animals to My Vet Strathfieldsaye, we loved the staff and atmosphere at My Vet
Central veterinary emergency
In Bendigo, we are lucky to have a late-night veterinary clinic available for residence from Friday at 6 pm to Sunday at 11:30 pm, when all other veterinary clinics in our area are closed. At Canine Companions, we have had our own dogs receive treatment at Central Veterinary Emergency and are grateful for their services.
LAD Electrical
Luke from LAD Electrical has been our trusted electrician at Canine Companions, providing us with all our electrical needs. He has even upgraded our solar system to ensure we have reliable and sustainable energy.
